After Hard Rock completes its acquisition of the Mirage Hotel & Casino from MGM Resorts International, Joe Lupo has been named as the manager of the company’s newest casino venture in Las Vegas.
The present president of Hard Rock’s Atlantic City casino will transition to lead the new enterprise in Las Vegas after the merger between Hard Rock and MGM Resorts has been approved by the Nevada gambling authorities.
In response to his new post, Lupo, who will subsequently resign from his role as president of the Casino Association of New Jersey, said: “The last four years in Atlantic City have been such a gratifying experience for me. Being named the new president of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas project and getting to see my family again makes me feel grateful and ecstatic.

In a lighthearted way, it could be stated that Lupo has “finished” New Jersey and is turning his attention back to Las Vegas.

Jim Allen, the chairman of Hard Rock, lauded Lupo’s leadership, saying: “Thanks to his passion and skill, financial results continue to exceed expectations, while our team members share an unequaled commitment to guest service and happiness. Joe Lupo will succeed even more at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, I’m sure of it.

Joe Lupo, who has been credited for ensuring the success of the Hard Rock’s Atlantic City casino when it debuted in 2018, will now resign from his position on September 1.

Anthony Faranca, the current general manager, will fill that post. When asked about his promotion, he said: “I’m excited to lead this outstanding team and certain that we will continue to do great things in Atlantic City.”

Lupo discussed gaming with Gaming America for the magazine’s January/February 2022 issue.
