Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Marketing Officers, and Chief Technology Officers have all been mentioned. You’ve probably heard of Chief Product Officers and Chief People Officers as well.
But what about Chief People Capability Officer? That’s most likely a new one. Following the appointment of Roxane Lukas, Light & Wonder will have a new hire with that exact job title.
Lukas is said to have over 25 years of combined experience as a ‘People Leader,’ focusing on organizational and leadership development, management, and executive coaching.
Lukas will lead Light & Wonder’s global people strategy as well as oversee the supplier’s people functions across the entire organization in her new role.
Lukas joined Light & Wonder after serving as Chief People Officer at several tech companies and as Global VP of HR at Electronic Arts.
“It’s an exciting time for Light & Wonder, and we are thrilled to have Roxane join the company as we continue on our journey to become the leading cross-platform global game leader,” said Light & Wonder CEO Barry Cottle.
“Roxane’s significant expertise, leadership, and experience will only strengthen our abilities to further cultivate our high-performance culture and expand our global team of creators.”
This appointment continues the gaming industry’s trend of new, possibly creatively named, C-level job titles.
It also continues the trend of larger gaming organizations focusing more on people, and possibly diversity and inclusion.
Light & Wonder reported $610 million in revenue for the second quarter of 2022, a 5% increase over the previous year.
