Midnite, an esports betting platform, has hired Luckbox veteran James McMath as Head of Communications.
The UK-based operator raised $16 million in series A funding earlier this year and is now looking to accelerate its growth even further. With this in mind, McMath has been brought on board to help Midnite achieve its goals.
In his new role, he will work with fellow Luckbox alumnus Sujoy Roy, Midnite’s Partnership Manager, to grow the platform’s user base and revenue.

“I’m thrilled to have joined the team at such an exciting time for Midnite as we look to cement our position as a major player in the esports and sports betting industries,” McMath said.

“I’m excited to contribute to our continued growth by attracting new users and improving our proprietary product.”

McMath’s appointment comes after a four-year stint at Luckbox as Chief Editor, PR Manager, and, most recently, Head of Communications.

Midnite, on the other hand, was established in 2018 by Nicholas Wright and Daniel Qu, who collaborated closely with Sky Bet to launch the platform.

“These are exciting times for our company, and I am thrilled that we have been able to significantly strengthen our team as we aim to smash our growth goals for the year,” Wright said.

“I’m especially pleased that we’ve been able to add talented individuals with extensive gaming industry experience as well as passions for sports, esports, and gaming.”

Midnite currently has 56 employees, including McMath, with 35 hired since January. The platform has a Gambling Commission license and is awaiting approval from the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).
