Although the casino isn’t expected to open until next year, Rush Street Gaming’s Portsmouth development has unveiled a number of new restaurants and amenities.
Local officials, workforce development partners, and members of the business community gathered in Downtown Portsmouth, a city in southwest Virginia, for the announcement.
According to Rivers Casino Portsmouth, the High Street location serves as a base for human resources and marketing teams while the property is under construction.
Attendees were given an early preview of what the completed casino will have to offer. There are several food and beverage options available, including Admiral’s Steak & Seafood.
Every Rush Street Gaming casino has a steakhouse, so the addition of Admiral’s should come as no surprise. This restaurant, on the other hand, will be unique to Portsmouth.
A Starbucks, Slice Pizzeria, Crossings Café, and Rush Street Gaming’s signature Asian-inspired Mian restaurant are also available. The property will also include a BetRivers Sportsbook, as well as live ticket windows and self-service kiosks.
“From the beginning, we have been committed to developing a high-quality, state-of-the-art gaming and entertainment complex, and we continue to deliver on that promise with this impressive lineup of restaurants and amenities,” said Roy Corby, General Manager of Rivers Casino Portsmouth.
The property expects to create approximately 1,300 new permanent jobs. To that end, Rivers Casino will hold a job fair at the Portsmouth Sportsplex on Saturday, August 20.
IT, security, human resources, marketing, hospitality, slot technicians, and table games are all departments with open positions.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth will open in early 2023, according to Rush Street Gaming, which broke ground in December 2021.
