The Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission has granted PointsBet Holdings provisional certification for sports wagering.
PointsBet will launch its sportsbook operations in Kansas on September 1, 2022, subject to receiving final launch authorization from the state.
Kansas legalized sports betting in May 2022, when state Governor Kelly signed legislation allowing both online and retail betting.

The state will officially launch sports betting operations on September 8th, in time for the first NFL game of the season.

A primary skin agreement with Kansas Crossing Casino LC provided the operator with market access in Kansas. The Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel is located in a four-state area near the borders of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas.

Following previous launches in New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, New York, and Pennsylvania, Kansas will be PointsBet’s 11th online sportsbook operation in the United States.

“We are excited to be launching on the starting line and having our outstanding sportsbook product available to the people of Kansas from day one,” said PointsBet Group CEO and Managing Director Sam Swanell.

“With the NFL season beginning on September 9th, the timing is ideal to highlight our NFL in-play betting capabilities in particular.”

PointsBet is an Australian Stock Exchange-listed corporate bookmaker with operations in Australia, the United States, Canada, and Ireland.

In July of this year, the operator announced strong end-of-year and fourth-quarter results for 2021.
