Caesars Entertainment has hired Matt Sunderland, a former BetMGM executive, to help grow its iGaming business.
As it considers expansion, the company is likely hoping that a new face will also bring new ideas. Sunderland will join Caesars as Senior Vice President of iGaming, where he will assist in the execution of the company’s growth plans.
Sunderland will need to draw on his experience in the iGaming industry, which he has worked in for over two decades, to accomplish this.
Sunderland has held several senior leadership positions throughout his career, including two years as BetMGM’s Vice President of Gaming.
He previously worked as an online gaming consultant for BetMGM and as a Marketing, Digital, and Product Consultant for Online Gaming at MGM Resorts.
Sunderland has also worked for GVC, which is now known as Entain, and International Game Technology (IGT), where he was Group Digital & Marketing Director.
Between 2000 and 2003, he was the Head of Commercial Marketing for media conglomerate CNN. Sunderland will begin his new position at Caesars on October 1.
“We’re thrilled to have Matt join the Caesars team,” said Eric Hession, President of Caesars Digital.
“His extensive experience and proven track record will be invaluable as we expand our iGaming and sports betting operations.” We’re excited to see what we can accomplish with Caesars Sportsbook & Casino.”
In April 2021, the company launched Caesars Sportsbook & Casino, which is now available in Michigan, New Jersey, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ontario, and Kansas.
