Caesars Entertainment has expanded its presence in Louisiana by introducing two new sportsbooks and a poker room.
As part of the company’s ongoing investment in Louisiana, Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City have each opened a Caesars Sportsbook.
Both properties held opening ceremonies to commemorate the occasion. Harrah’s welcomed Leroy Mitchell Jr., aka “Whistle Monsta” – a self-proclaimed New Orleans Saints “superfan” – as well as Hall of Famer and former Saint Rickey Jackson to their casino.
Archie Manning and his son, television personality Cooper Manning, were also present to witness Jackson place the first bet: a $1,000 wager on the Saints to win the Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tommy Chandler presided over a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Bossier City, following which a VIP placed a $200,000 inaugural bet.
“These incredible openings are a testament to Louisiana residents, our team members, and the guests who visit these historic resorts,” said Caesars Digital President Eric Hession.
“We truly feel like we’re part of the home team in Louisiana, and we take pride in serving the state’s wonderful customers and sports fans.”
In addition, Harrah’s New Orleans opened a new World Series of Poker Room, a 5,000-square-foot venue with 20 poker tables.
This, along with Harrah’s new sportsbook, is part of a $325 million transformation that will transform the resort into Caesars New Orleans by 2024.
“The opening of our world-class Caesars Sportsbook locations and the new World Series of Poker Room add to the legacy that Harrah’s New Orleans and Horseshoe Bossier City have built in the Gulf Coast region,” Dan Real, Caesars’ Regional President – South, added.
