Operator Betsson has signed on to sponsor Club Athletico Paranaense of Brazilian football.
The partnership between Betsson and the club will last through the end of 2023, with the first appearance scheduled for Thursday, August 4, in a Libertadores Cup game versus Estudiantes.
The team’s women’s uniform will also feature the company’s emblem.

Although Betsson is known mostly for its casinos, the operator’s Q2 figures indicated a considerable increase in sports betting income, the majority of which came from Latin America.

Pontus Lindwall, the CEO of Betsson AB, spoke about the continued expansion that he anticipates the company will have in the area in an exclusive interview with GI Friday.

Naturally, more collaborations like the Paranaense one—far from being Betsson’s first in this field—will seek to expand on this development.

Of course, Latin America is not Betsson’s primary focus when it comes to emerging markets. A recent investment in African business BetBonanza was announced by the operator.
