Jamul Casino in California has launched a new quarterly multi-day poker series.
The San Diego Poker Classic (SDPC), the latest addition to the property’s poker programming, is owned and operated by the Jamul Indian Village.
The first iteration of the new series will last 11 days, ending on August 28th, and will offer players over $150,000 in prize money. Jamul hopes that the SDPC will assist in “solidifying” its position as one of San Diego’s entertainment destinations.

It will include 14 trophy events, including a $50,000 weekend opener and a ladies event the following week. The highlight of Jamul’s new series, however, will begin on August 23.

The SDPC Main Event will run until the end of the series and will feature a $100,000 guarantee. To participate, players must pay a $600 buy-in or take their chances at a satellite table. They will have a one-in-ten chance of winning a seat in the main event for $85, or a one-in-five chance for $145.

The series, presented in collaboration with RunGood Events, will take place in Jamul Casino’s Poker Room and JIVe Lounge. Players who are interested can register in person at Jamul Casino.

Future series will take place in the second month of each quarter, which will include, in addition to August, November, February, and May.

“We’re expecting about 600 players for this first San Diego Poker Classic, and we’ll continue with a multi-day series every November, February, May, and August,” said Jamul Casino’s Poker Manager, John Rochfort.

“We wish all of our aspiring winners the best of luck.”
